Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced
Lead Data Engineer to drive the modernization and transformation of enterprise data platforms.
The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing data movement between external partners, such as Equifax, and internal systems while enabling scalable, reliable, and consumable data solutions across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in
Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Java, and Python , combined with strong technical leadership and architectural capabilities.
This position offers a clear path toward broader leadership responsibilities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, and optimization of large-scale data engineering solutions.
- Drive modernization initiatives by migrating legacy data platforms to cloud-native architectures.
- Manage and enhance enterprise data ingestion, transformation, and consumption frameworks.
- Lead data platform migration efforts, including:
- Amazon EMR to Databricks
- Amazon EMR to Snowflake
- Build scalable and high-performance data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Snowflake, Java, and Python .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard new data sources and make them accessible for analytics and business consumption.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and engineering best practices to data engineering teams.
- Ensure data quality, governance, performance optimization, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define and implement strategic data solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to the growth of the team's technical capabilities.
- Support enterprise data transformation and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications - 10-12+ years of experience in Data Engineering .
- Strong hands-on development experience with Java and/or Python .
- 3-4+ years of experience with:
- Databricks
- Snowflake
- Apache Spark
- Proven experience with large-scale data platform modernization initiatives.
- Strong experience designing and building cloud-based data solutions .
- Experience working with the AWS cloud ecosystem .
- Proven experience leading technical teams and driving engineering initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience with large-scale enterprise data transformation programs.
