About the Position
We are seeking a motivated Back Office Medical Assistant who is currently pre-med, pre-PA, or pursuing another healthcare career and is eager to gain meaningful clinical experience. This position offers hands-on exposure to patient care, medical documentation, and provider support , making it an excellent opportunity for someone planning to apply to medical or physician assistant school.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and eager to learn . No prior scribing experience is required — training will be provided.
Work Location
This position will require working between two office locations :
Royal Oak, MI
Detroit, MI
Candidates must have reliable transportation and flexibility to work at both locations as scheduled.
Responsibilities
Assist the provider with clinical workflow and patient care
Scribe in real time during patient encounters
Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake
Document patient history, procedures, and treatment plans in the EMR
Assist with minor procedures when appropriate
Coordinate clinical tasks and provider support throughout the day
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Ideal Candidate
Currently pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, or other health professional track in a gap year
Strong interest in gaining clinical exposure and mentorship
Excellent attention to detail and typing skills
Professional demeanor with strong patient communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Interest in dermatology / procedural medicine is a plus
