Abolurin Samod is a COREN registered Civil Engineer with over 25years experience in various aspects of engineering activities with Shell Petroleum Development Company and other oil and gas construction company. He is a project management practitioner (from initiation to commissioning/abandonment), corporate business planner, project risk manager, quality and safety manager, project performance and reporting expert, a trainer and a team player. He has worked on various aspects of project delivery process, business planning and integration, performance assessment and monitoring, human resources management and stakeholder management. He is result driven and communicates effectively with all levels of workmates.

He has widespread exposure with all levels of staff including top managers of the business and has a network of friends and colleagues within and outside the industry. He relates effectively with others and works for the common good of all concern.

Selected Projects worked on:

  • Snr Dredging Engineer: Delivered 30+ swamp dredging projects in Niger Delta region in support of oil & gas drilling operations and production facilities integrity enhancement
  • Facilities Engineer: Delivered over 20 land drilling platform projects including access roads in support of drilling and production operations
  • Head Capital Project Risk Management: Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the risk management process for SPDC Capital & Engineering projects worth over $1bln annually in support of company delivery objectives
  • Major Projects & Engineering Planner: Delivered and integrate Major Projects & Engineering business plans (2009 – 2014) valued over $1bln annually into SPDC Corporate business plan and drive targets achievement
